Ultrasound
Therapy
Ultrasound
therapy is widely used across different professions inclusive of
physiotherapists. The aim of ultrasound, as indeed any type of
therapy is to get the injured limb back in good working order as
soon as possible with the minimum amount of pain.
Ultrasound is a mechanical energy applied to the body at frequencies
above 20,000Hz. This enables penetration of the tissues and will
generate heat. Thus enabling:
♦
Softening of hardened scar tissue
♦
Reduced pain
♦
Reduced Inflammation
♦
Speeds up the healing process
