Kim Harkett
BSc Biology, RSA Exercise to Music/YMCA level 2 Aerobic Instructor,
Amateur Swimming Association Qualified Instructor, Aquaerobics
instructor, ISRM certificate in management.
Kim has more than 17 years experience in the Leisure industry,
beginning as a qualified lifeguard/ swimming instructor and
advancing to Swimming Pool Manager and became involved with Pilates
in 2000, with an aim to strengthen muscles affected by a car
accident that she sustained as a teenager.
Through Pilates Kim found that she was able to address muscular
imbalance and gain body awareness, and incorporate these principles
into everyday life. Knowing that she had benefited by regular participation
and practice, it was a natural decision to pursue qualification. I
completed my training in July 2007 to gain my OCR/NVQ Level 2
Pilates Mat Work Instructor, and joined the team at
Pilates East Anglia.
I have since attended workshops for Pelvic floor and Pelvic
stability.
Kim’s biggest reward through teaching is the feedback from class
participants; and feels good to know she is part of the ‘individual’
journey to master a new skill.
